Portrait of Andy Laverdure

When I met Andy, I could sense that he was a man of integrity and kindness, who cared deeply about helping his people. During our journey to and from Philadelphia during the week of the DNC, writer John Laurits and I were invited to Andy’s home in North Dakota, in order to conduct an interview for our article on Turtle Mountain reservation. We learned about the struggles of the Native American population there, and nationwide, and I felt deeply moved and invigorated from the conversations that we had with Andy. If you’re interested in reading John’s article, which also includes photos that I took of our visit to the reservation and Andy’s home, click here

Portrait of My Dad

Hello friends,
Today I decided to draw a portrait of my dad, because, well- he and my mom created me, so it’s the least I can do to repay him. I’m off to sleep land, G’night!

Portrait of Snowden

Hello friends!
I started this portrait of Mr. Edward Snowden, because I think he’s done a lot of good for our society, and is worth honoring. It’s a work in progress, so don’t judge too harshly yet 🙂

Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche

A controversial figure in spiritual circles, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche founded the Naropa Institute, which has since flourished into Naropa University, and also brought Shambhala  Buddhism to the West. Thank you Trungpa, for your crazy wisdom!

Walls of Silence

Walls of Silence

And even if you were in some prison, the walls of which let none of the sounds of the world come to your senses – would you not then still have your childhood, that precious, kingly possession, that treasure-house of memories?
